This pie is so versatile and can be made for several different “holidays.” From Christmas to St. Patrick’s Day, Easter to the 4th of July, this pie will soon become your best friend. Cool, creamy and perfect. Serve slices of frozen grasshopper pie on a bed of shaved or grated chocolate mint candy bar.

An All Occasion Pie

During the holidays, substitute green creme de menthe for the clear cream de menthe. Make a chocolate cookie crust made from crushed oreo Cookies. Garnish  the pie with crushed red and white candy canes. Grasshopper Pie is delicious and the perfect multi-festive holiday dessert. Once again for St Patrick’s Day, use green colored cream de menthe. In the summertime this cool and minty pie is so refreshing.

Grasshopper or Grasshopper Pie

A grasshopper is a cocktail made with cream, crème de menthe and white crème de cacao. Because it’s very sweet, a grasshopper is usually served as an after dinner drink. A grasshopper pie is flavored with crème de menthe and white crème de cacao, enriched by whipping cream and lightened with beaten egg whites. It typically has a graham-cracker or cookie-crumb crust. Garnish with fresh mint leaves, chocolate curls and Crème de Pirouline Rolled Wafer Cookies.

Enjoy Shamrock Grasshopper Mint Pie on St. Patrick’s Day. Cool, Creamy and Green! Frozen Grasshopper Pie is made special using DeKuyper
Creme de Menthe and Creme de Cacao. One of my favorite cocktails is a Grasshopper Ice Cream Cocktail. Super simple to make too. Place one shot of green creme de menthe, one shot white creme de cacao and two scoops of vanilla ice cream into a blender. Blend until thick and creamy.
