Sesame Pork Ribs

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon chili paste
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 large leek, washed and sliced
  • 1 juice from 1 lemon
  • 2 teaspoons lemon zest
  • 5 pounds bone-in country-style ribs
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the first nine ingredients. Set aside.
  • Place ribs on large baking sheet. Roast in a 425º oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  • Place sliced leeks in the bottom of a 5-quart slow cooker; top with ribs and sauce.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until meat is tender.
  • Place the ribs on a serving platter; sprinkle with sesame seeds
