Almond French Toast

Delicious with mulberry syrup.

Ingredients

  • 1 16 oz loaf French bread
  • 1 tablespoons almond flour or flour
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 to 4 tablespoons butter
  • syrup, extra butter and powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Cut bread into 1/2 inch slices, set aside. (You should have 12 slices. In a large mixing bowl, add flour, slowly whisk in almond milk. Whisk in salt, eggs, cinnamon and almond extract until smooth. Soak bread slices in egg mixture until saturated.
  • Heat a griddle or frying pan over medium heat, melt butter.
  • Cook bread slices in melted butter on each side until golden brown.
  • Serve hot with syrup, pats of butter and sifted powdered sugar.
