Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 1/4 cup canned diced green chilies
  • 2 cloves garlic. minced
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons creole seasoning
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 12 ounce beer
  • 1/4 cup melted butter

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375
  • In small saute' pan, heat oil. Saute' onion, green chilies and garlic until tender. Set aside to cool.
  • Mix together dry ingredients; add beer, stir. Fold in onion mixture.
  • Pour into a greased 9 x 5 loaf pan.
  • Pour melted butter over batter in pan.
  • Bake 1 hour, remove pan from oven and cool for 10 minutes.
  • Remove bread from pan and cool on wire rack.
