Cherries on a Cloud

Ingredients

  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1 tub cool-whip

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350° Grease a 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Place a piece of parchment paper in the bottom of baking pan, grease. Flour the pan and set aside.
  • Make the cake mix according to package directions. Allow the cake to cool in baking pan for 10-15 minutes. Carefully remove cake from pan. Allow cake to cool completely on a wire rack. Cake needs to be cold to the touch before frosting. Place cake on large, parchment paper lined baking sheet.
  • Stir tub of cool-whip with large spoon. Frost cold cake with cool-whip. Place frosted cake in the refrigerator for several hours to allow cool-whip to ‘set-up’
  • Spoon cherry pie filling in the middle of the frosted cake, as much as possible. Store cake in the refrigerator.
