Crunchy Coleslaw Hot Dogs

Ingredients

  • 1 16 oz package hot dogs
  • 1 package hot dog buns
  • 4 cups thinly sliced cabbage
  • 1 large carrot, peeled and grated on the large holes of a box grater
  • 1 tablespoon finely grated fresh horseradish root, optional
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Fill a medium-sized saucepan halfway with water and bring to a boil over high heat. Once it's boiling add in as many hot dogs as you needed. Reduce heat to medium-high and let the hot dogs boils for about 10 minutes or until plump.
  • Meanwhile, prepare coleslaw. In a large bowl toss together cabbage, carrots and horseradish if using. In a small bowl whisk together dressing ingredients; mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, sugar and black pepper. Drizzle the dressing over the cabbage mixture and gently toss together.
  • Place drained hot dogs in buns and top with coleslaw.
