- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons spicy mustard, any brand you like
- 16 ounce package whole mushrooms, wiped clean
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup beer, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon old bay seasoning
- 2 cups any flavor croutons, crushed
- vegetable oil for frying
Stir together mayonnaise and mustard. Refrigerate until serving time.
Slice mushrooms into thick slices. Whisk together flour, beer, baking powder, and old bay seasoning. Heat oil in a deep cast iron skillet to 375ยบ
Dip sliced mushrooms in batter, then roll in crushed croutons. Drop into hot oil, fry until golden brown, 2 to 4 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
Serve mushrooms with spicy mustard dip.
