Cinnamon Knots

Frozen bread dough works beautifully in this recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons orange juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Cut loaf into 12 equal pieces. Mix together cinnamon and sugar.
  • Roll each piece of dough into a 9-inch rope.
  • Dip each rope into melted butter and then roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  • Tie in a loose knot and place on a baking sheet coated with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and let double in size.
  • Remove wrap and bake at 350º for 20 to 30 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
  • Make citrus glaze.
  • Combine glaze ingredients and brush over warm knots.
