Smoked Salmon Alfredo

I’m not a huge fan of fresh salmon, I’m sorry to say. My hubby and son on the other hand, love salmon. Their favorite way to eat salmon is grilled on cedar planks with lemon slices and fresh dill. Sounds good, doesn’t it!  I might not care for salmon but I do love smoked salmon. Salty, smokey and delicious. A little amount of smoked salmon goes a long way, so even though the initial investment might seem expensive you can make several recipes using a small amount of smoked salmon. Smoked Salmon Alfredo will soon become a family favorite!

Add Smoked Salmon

Since you don’t need to add a lot of smoked salmon to a dish, smoked salmon can be very economical in the long run. For this recipe you’ll need about 12 ounces of smoked salmon which we paid under $10.00 for at Aldi.  Not bad for the delicious flavor that smoked salmon adds to dishes. Smoked salmon can be added to dips, egg dishes, and casseroles. My favorite way to eat smoked salmon is on a cracker, preferably a triscuit.

Give Smoked Salmon a Chance

If you have never tried smoked salmon in recipes before, give this recipe a try, you will be pleasantly surprised. Smoked salmon is relatively inexpensive to use in recipes so give it a try. One thing to remember when using smoked salmon or any smoked fish, a little goes a long way. Smoked Salmon can be found in most grocery stores in the seafood/meat section. If smoked salmon isn’t available in your area, substitute smoked trout, white fish or even chubs.

A tasty and different way to eat smoked salmon

  • 2 cups frozen home-style egg noodles, Reames
  • 2 cups frozen chopped broccoli
  • 1 14-16 oz jar Alfredo sauce
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill weed
  • 1/2 teaspoon seafood seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 12 ounces smoked salmon, skin and bones removed
  • 1/4 cup Italian-style bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter


  • Heat oven to 350º
  • In a large saucepan, cook frozen egg noodles according to package directions. Remove noodles from water, drain. In the same water used to cook the egg noodles, cook broccoli for 5 minutes, drain.
  • In large bowl stir together noodles, broccoli, Alfredo sauce, milk, dill weed, seafood seasoning and shredded Swiss cheese; mix well. Gently fold in smoked salmon. Pour into greased 2 quart casserole dish. In small bowl, combine 1/4 cup bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese and butter. Mix well. Sprinkle over top.
  • Bake for 35 to 45 minutes or until bubbly and top is browned.
