Six Different Compound Butters
Six Different Compound Butter
Compound butter is butter that has been creamed with other ingredients such as herbs, garlic, wine, shallots and so on. The 🇫🇷 French term for compound butter is beurre composé. There are many sauces that you can add beurre composé too. One such sauce is called beurre blanc. Beurre blanc means “white butter.” This classic French sauce is composed of a wine, vinegar and shallot reduction into which chunks of cold butter are whisked until the sauce is thick and smooth. Excellent with poultry, seafood and vegetables.

Adds Flavor
One pat of flavored butter can take food to new flavor heights. One or two pats of flavored butter can add tons of flavor to: steamed fish, grilled meats, cooked rice, pasta, baked potatoes, corn-on-the-cob, or your favorite sauces. The possibilities are endless. To add a whimsical touch or some fun to your festivities, form flavored butters into logs or form the flavored butter into shapes using a butter press, or use a melon baller to scoop out butter into small ball shapes. Store butter in small plastic baggies in your refrigerator and use as you would regular butter.

Great idea, Lynn. I agree that we don`t have to cut out everything in order to lose or maintain our weight. It`s all a matter of moderation. I love adding fresh herbs to anything I can – it makes a world of difference. I`m printing this out – will definitely be using these recipes. Love it!
