Original Ranch Cheddar Chicken

It amazes me the wonderful recipes that can and should be found on the back of cans, bottles, cartons, boxes and the like. After all, these recipes were already tested for us in a test kitchen somewhere, and then stamped on the back of a container. With that in mind, you know the recipe has to be good! This is one of those recipes that I found on the back of my bottle of Hidden Valley Original Ranch salad dressing.

One of Many

A few days ago, while I was sitting at the kitchen cupboard eating my salad, I noticed this recipe on the back of my bottle of Hidden Valley Ranch Salad Dressing. I adjusted my bifocals and read on. This recipe sounded really good and more importantly I had all the ingredients. I got to thinking, I wonder how many other recipes are on the back of cans, bottles etc? I quickly found out, this recipe was one of many.

Take A Look

Being slightly on the OCD side, I opened my refrigerator and started reading the backs of all the bottles, jars and cartons that were in my refrigerator. I know, I need to get a life but this sort of thing fascinates me. I found twelve recipes! Everything from Creamy Fudge Pops made with Silk Almond Milk to Key Lime Pie made with Nellie and Joe’s Key Lime Juice.

Pantry Items

If I was to go through all of my pantry items, I’m positive I would be able to come up with well over thirty recipes. Tomato sauce, spaghetti sauce, tuna, creamed soups, pasta boxes and so on, all have recipes on the back. One thing I have found while reading the recipes on the back of these containers, is that many of these recipes are fast, easy, affordable and made with ingredients that most of us have on hand.
