Hawaiian BBQ Bratwurst Kabobs

Kabobs are great for grilling during the summertime and here on Turnips 2 Tangerines, we have embraced the ease and deliciousness of kabobs. This recipe proves that different ingredients can and will work well together. Here is the perfect example, this recipe combines bratwurst, pineapple chunks, green pepper, whole mushrooms, and onions to create a great and delicious tasting kabob.

In This Recipe

In this recipe, we lightly basted the kabobs with Sweet Baby Ray’s {New} Hawaiian-Style BBQ Sauce, during the last 10 minutes of grillin’ time. We love Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ Sauce! You can also make your own barbecue sauce simply by mixing together pineapple juice, spices, apple cider vinegar, ketchup, brown sugar, molasses, salt and pepper to taste. Recipe follows:)

Any Bratwurst or Sausage

In this recipe, you can substitute Italian sausage, Polish sausage, turkey sausage, kielbasa or your favorite type of sausage. We of course, went with the Wisconsin favorite, the Bratwurst! Here in Wisconsin you can find bratwurst in just about any ‘flavor’ you can think of. Bratwurst made with dried cranberries, wild rice, mushrooms, sauerkraut, blue cheese, jalapenos, black olives, and so on and so forth.

Instructions

  • Slice each bratwurst into 3 or 4 pieces.

  • For gas grills, simply set the grill burners to medium level, close the grill, and allow the grill to heat up.
