Farm Stand Cucumbers Means Pickles!
Farm Stand Cucumbers Means Pickles!
Today on my way home from Shawano WI, I stopped at my favorite farm stand. The farm is ran by a very hard-working family, the Kirchner’s. Their farm is located on County Hwy. R, near Suring WI. I go past this farm all the time and have stopped there on numerous occasions. Northern Wisconsin is about 2 weeks behind in the harvest of vegetables and fruits due to cooler temperatures and lack of rain.
Kirchner’s Produce~ Farm Stand~

Today I stopped at Kirchner’s because I wanted to pick up some cucumbers. Sweet n’ Hot Pickles are on the menu. Something I make for my hubby every year when cucumbers are plentiful. This little farm stand is located right off the side of the road and goes by the honor system. The prices are right and the produce is always fresh, plentiful & delicious.
Today the stand was filled with zucchini, cucumbers, dill, summer squash, tomatoes, green beans and broccoli. They also sell cans of pop for 50¢ from a large refrigerator. Check out the farm stands and farmer’s markets in your area. See what they have to offer. Recipes made with farm fresh produce, Fresh Asparagus 101, Recipes with Fresh Corn, Fresh Peach Kuchen, German Peach Cake, and Mexican Street Corn aka Elote.
Zucchini 75¢ each

Tomatoes 15¢ each

Fresh Dill
Cucumbers 25¢ each

Large Cucumbers 50¢ each

Summer Squash 20¢ each

I always enjoy a farmers' market or one of those honor system farm stands. I have to remember to get small bills before I head out though. Nothing worse than either leaving a huge tip or having to come home with way more than I want because I only have a twenty!
