Easy Black Forest Cake
Easy Black Forest Cake

Taste of Home Recipe
I found this fantastic and easy recipe in: Fast Fixes with Mixes Cookbook from Taste of Home. With one bite it became a fast, family favorite! All you need are 6 ingredients to make this dessert that everyone will love! During baking, cake magic occurs. The mini marshmallows and cherry pie filling trade places. The cherry pie filling sinks to the bottom and the mini marshmallows float to the top.
The mini marshmallows melt and any marshmallows that are exposed become slightly toasted. You can “frost” the cooled cake with whipped cream or frozen whipped topping, thawed. Of course you can serve easy black forest cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! This easy version of black forest cake really isn’t black forest cake at all, at least not the German version of black forest cake. That’s a whole different cake altogether.
German Black Forest Torte
Black forest torte also known as Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte. This exquisite dessert hails from Swabia in Germany’s Black Forest region. It’s made by layering Kirsch-scented chocolate cake, sour cherries, and kirsch-laced whipped cream. Then it’s coated generously with sweetened whipped cream and garnished with chocolate curls and whole stemmed cherries. Here is our version of Authentic Black Forest Cake
