Make At Home

Some of the best Asian dishes come from small countries like Thailand and Indonesia. You’ve probably heard about the larger countries like Pakistan, Bengal and India, and how well their cuisines have been accepted throughout the Western world. Here is a list of some dishes you should give a try at home or perhaps in a local restaurant. Making delicious meals at home is a great way to try new dishes. So why have you not tried these three delicious recipes?

Green Is Mean

Thailand makes two of the world’s most famous curries. Red and green. The spicier dish is the latter and it’s something you should ready your taste buds for because it won’t take it easy on you. This is how you can make Green Thai Chicken Curry at home. What you’ll need for the broth; 400 ml of coconut milk, preferably full fat. You’ll also need some sesame seed or normal vegetable oil. (Follow full recipe here), Green Thai curry paste, can be bought at most Asian food stores or your local supermarket. It’s quite popular so you shouldn’t have any trouble. Get some lime, Thai basil and some green beans for a little crunch. Gently fry the chicken in the oil until browned and then move to one side. Make the broth with coconut milk, Green Thai Curry paste, lime, Thai basil and green beans. Submerge the chicken in the broth and let it gently simmer for 10-15 minutes or until it has thickened. You can add some small red Thai chilli to the dish for an extra kick.

Peanut Wonder

This next dish hails from the great nation of Indonesia. It’s a rare curry that we don’t often see in Western countries, but it’s slowly gaining traction thanks to the sauce being sold in large wholesale retail stores. Follow full recipe here Satay chicken curry, is a peanut sauce that is sweet and nutty, with a hint of chilli. What you’ll need is unsalted but roasted peanuts, which have been finely chopped.

You’ll need some:

Classic bird’s eye chilli, garlic cloves, kepac manis (which is a kind of aromatic soy sauce), coconut milk and a little dark soy sauce. You can add lime to freshen up the sauce if you want. Gently fry your chicken until golden brown and add to the sauce. The peanut puree is going to thicken up the sauce really quickly so use a medium heat to cook the chicken in the curry sauce for about 15-20 minutes.

Spicy Sweet Potatoes

India and the surrounding counties have a rich culinary culture. But it’s not always curried that boast about the food, it’s the side dishes like this chaat recipe, follow full recipe here CubesNJuliennes.com. Gently fry some potatoes in oil, add a variety of spices like chilli flakes, green chilli and chaat masala. Then add something sweet and sour like lemon and pomegranate, which is then finally showered with black salt. This is a vegetable dish that can be eaten as a side or even as breakfast.

Give Green A Chance

Green Thai curry is very spicy but has such a unique flavor, there’s nothing quite like it. If you would like something a bit less chilli, satay chicken is something you should try when you have the chance.
