Making a Video

I’ve been asked a certain question time and time again. Recently, someone emailed me and asked me,”Why I didn’t do step-by-step videos showing  how to prepare my recipes, like so many other food bloggers now do?”  Well I think it’s high time I address this question. I have all the right equipment for making videos and then some. I’ve even made a stab at making videos and let me tell you, there is a whole lot that goes into making one of those 50 second videos. A lot more than you might think! Setting cameras up at the right angles, food prep work, then making the recipe step-by-step etc etc. Then you have to upload the video to YouTube, which by the way takes a lifetime..then edit, edit and more edit. I think you get the “picture”

Back to the Question

Back to the question. Why don’t I make step-by-step food videos? Well the answer is really quite simple. I have osteoarthritis in my hands or as my grandma would say, I have the “Arthur” and they aren’t video making material. Let’s put it this way, I guess it would be accurate to say that my hand modeling days are over. I don’t want to sound like I’m playing the victim and certainly not a bleeding victim nor am I feeling sorry for myself. I’m simply explaining that I’m very self-conscience about my hands, maybe more that I should be. That’s the reason why I don’t do step-by-step videos. However, I’ve decided to take my own advice and just bite the bullet and get on with it! I’ll just chalk my hands up to yet another body part that has succumbed to advancing age.
