Steel Cut Oats
Slow Cooker Pumpkin Pie Oatmeal is fantastic. What could be easier than to put a few ingredients in a slow-cooker, turn it on low. In a few hours, breakfast is served. Slow cooker oatmeal is made with steel-cut oats. Steel-cut oats need to be used in all recipes for slow cooker oatmeal recipes because steel cut oats can withstand the long hours in the slow cooker.
Since the writing of this post we have changed the time on all “overnight” slow cooker oatmeal recipes. We found that “overnight” slow cooking is way too long thus resulting in burnt oatmeal. We recommend 4 to 6 hours on high for oatmeal made in the slow cooker. This is just our recommendation. Make oatmeal in the slow cooker and see what you think.

- 1 cup canned pumpkin
