Beer Battered Crouton Coated Mushrooms
8 ounce package
whole mushrooms, wiped clean
beer, room temperature
old bay seasoning
any flavor croutons, crushed
- Slice mushrooms in half. Slice mushrooms into thick slices. Whisk together flour, beer, baking powder, and old bay seasoning. Heat oil in a deep cast iron skillet to 375º
- Dip sliced mushrooms in batter, then roll in crushed croutons. Drop into hot oil, fry until golden brown, 2 to 4 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
Spicy Mustard Dip
spicy mustard, any brand you like
- Stir together mayonnasie and mustard.
- Serve with mushrooms.
