Easy Mulled Wine with Christkindl Wine

Going to a Christmas Party and you need  a quick hostess gift? Give a bottle of Christkindl Spiced Red Wine, Mulled Cherry Wine or Apple Punch Wine. Then add a cute ornament and you’ll have a great gift! All Christkindl Wines are best served warm, making them the perfect wine to use when making Mulled Wine. All of the Christkindl Wines can be purchased at Aldi for a very reasonable price, I’m pretty sure we paid $4.99 per bottle. Making mulled wine in a crock pot makes this drink an easy “self-serve” way for your guests to stay warm

Germany’s Favorite Christmas Drink

Every culture has its holiday customs and the associated dishes and drinks that are served. Glühwein is Germany’s favorite Christmas drink that is served with everything from gingerbread to meats and cheeses. Glühwein is similar to mulled wine, a favorite drink to sip on during the long, cold winter months in many cultures. The German word, glühwein, translates to mean ‘glow wine’ in English.

This name was derived from the red hot irons used to heat the wine when the drink first became popular hundreds of years ago. Glühwein has many variations across different cultures in the regions that surround it. From Scandinavia to Turkey to Italy, France and the Netherlands. In the Nordic countries, there is glögg. Mulled wine is popular among the people of Great Britain. Glühwein is enjoy throughout Germany during the month of December whilst strolling the many German Christmas Markets.
